CBD Q&A Section:

What is CBD Oil?
CBD oil is derived from cannabis plants that have high levels of cannabidiol (CBD) while having no or low levels of THC. These extracts can then be used in paste form, or mixed with other oils such as hemp seed oil, to lower the viscosity of the extract. The cannabidiol (CBD) content of CBD oil varies tremendously, since the manufacturers use a varying assortment of cannabis plants and preparation techniques. At Healing Drops we use CBD oil with a high concentration of CBD and containing 0% THC.

What is Hemp oil?
Hemp oil is simply another word used for CBD oil, as both are terms to mean cannabis extracts. But be aware that there is also a huge misunderstanding about the difference between Hemp seed oil and Hemp oil, with many people believing they are the same. Hemp seed oil is derived purely from hemp seeds, and is used in food preparation but does not contain CBD or any other cannabinoids.

Different names for THC oil:
We receive many questions about the types of Cannabis oil, marijuana oil, THC oil, hemp oil and CBD oil. What does the name stand for and what is in the oil? The biggest difference is the concentration of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol ) in the oils.  Whereas hemp and CBD oil do not contain THC, the other oils do contain measurable levels of THC (the active substance that can produce a high).

Apparent differences:
On the Internet all kinds of terms and symptoms are mentioned that cause confusion. So many, that you, as a customer, cannot see the forest for the trees anymore. We will try to inform you in this article as clearly as possible about the apparent differences between Cannabis oil, CBD oil, marijuana oil, hemp oil and THC oil.

Cannabinoids are the basis:
THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol ) and CBD (Cannabidiol) are the two best-known cannabinoids that recently received a lot of attention as medical application. However, it is estimated there are more than 80 cannabinoids present in hemp and marijuana plants.

Endo-cannabinoid system
The human body contains, just like other mammals and animals an endo-cannabinoid system. Endo stands for endogenous to the body. Endo-cannabinoids act as signalers and control the production of e.g. hormones. Also, our complex immune system is controlled by the cannabinoid system. So, quite important.

Cannabidiol Science is still in its infancy, but with good will
Medical science is still in its infancies regarding this area. The same science actually just started with extensive research on the effect of cannabinoids. The will and the importance of cannabinoids is increasingly being recognized. Also serious research is going on about the exact influence on the human and/or animal body.

Does Healing Drops CBD/Hemp Oil contain THC?
We have been working hard on finding the Hemp strains containing high concentrations of CBD and terpenes.

What names are used for oils coming from the hemp plant?
Hemp oil, CBD oil, Marijuana oil, THC oil, Cannabis oil, Rick Simpson Oil.
Hemp oil:
In general, with Hemp oil one refers to hemp seed oil. The seeds of the fiber hemp are a byproduct of the production of hemp. The fiber hemp is produced with fibers that are used for e.g. car and construction industry.

Cold-pressed hemp seeds:
The seeds of the hemp plant can be cold pressed peeled and unpeeled (preferably cold), to a delicious oil. This oil is known about its great taste, and for the high values of unsaturated fats, such as Omega 3 and Omega 6 and 9. In these oils, no cannabinoids such as TCH or CBD are present. Yet, the oil is used to improve the dosage and the wholesome effects of CBD oil.

CBD Oil:
CBD Oil is a collective term for oils made from fiber hemp, and do not contain THC. CBD Oil is a compound oil that contains at least CBD (Cannabidiol). These can also be other varieties, because there many different cannabinoids are present in raw hemp. Apart from CBD, we have oils that also contain the cannabinoids CBDA, CBC, CBGA, CBD, CBCA. This oil is often diluted with olive oil or hemp seed oil to improve the dosage and taste.

CBD products without THC:
The fiber hemp we use for the production of CBD Oil, contains less than 0.2% THC. During the production of different CBD products, the level of THC in the fiber hemp will further reduce.

CBD oil is legally available.
CBD oil comes in many types and tastes. We sell the best brands and most demanded compounds. Because no THC is present in CBD Oil, this oil is legally available in all of Europe. We do not make any claims about the wholesome effect, though the Internet is full of renowned researchers who see benefits in the use of CBD oils.

Marijuana oil – THC Oil and Cannabis oil:
Three names that in most cases refer to the same product. In popular speech, different names were created out of THC containing oils from (Dutch) marijuana. Those saying marijuana oil, cannabis oil or THC oil normally refer to the same thing. An oil made from (Dutch) marijuana with a high concentration of THC. The purpose is to become high, though the medicinal effect becomes more and more important.

Marijuana oil = THC Oil = Cannabis Oil:
One of these names is normally given to oils made from the resin of the female marijuana plant. So when you learn something about marijuana oil, an oil is meant with a high concentration of THC and sometimes with a high or medium concentration of CBD as well.

Marijuana oil.
This oil is made by extracting the resin of the female marijuana plant with the help of alcohol. After the resin is dissolved in alcohol, you let the alcohol evaporate. The residue will then consist of a thick syrup full of THC. The THC is what's it all about. To simplify the administration (often orally), the syrup is often dissolved in pure hemp seed oil.

Marijuana oil:
Marijuana oil is made from (medicinal) marijuana (as the word already suggests) and the oil therefore also contains THC. The large difference between marijuana and hemp is the amount of THC present in the plant. For marijuana that is high and for hemp that is negligibly low.

Marijuana oil is not legal to buy:
Because marijuana oil contains THC, this oil will never be available to buy here, because THC is illegal. Marijuana oil is illegal because of the presence of THC (a substance forbidden in USA).

THC Oil:
The name already kind of suggests it. This oil from the marijuana plant is known about its high concentration of THC. Also this oil is made by extracting the resin of the female marijuana plant with the help of alcohol. This is possible through different methods. The best-known method is used by Rick Simpson, he put very clear instruction videos on Youtube. The value of THC depends on which marijuana strain is used to make THC oil from.

Do you have different variations of CBD products?

Whatever your thoughts and opinions on workplace drug testing, it is a reality for many employees. Most drug tests screen for THC (delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol). Our products contain 0% of THC . However, studies have shown that eating foods containing hemp (seeds, oil, etc.) can cause confirmed positive results for THC. Therefore, if you are subject to any form of drug testing, it is our recommendation to talk with whomever may be testing you prior to using any hemp-derived CBD products.

What does the CBD Oil/Hemp Oil contain?
CBD, Terpenes, Chlorophyll, Alkanes, Nitrogenous compounds, Amino acids, Sugars, Aldehydes, Alcohols, Ketones, Flavonoids, Glycosides, Vitamins and Pigments.

Scientists have found out that cannabis/hemp contains over 400 molecules and in recent research we have discovered there are a group of molecules that cannabis produces called cannabinoids which are mostly responsible for its effects. There are over 120 cannabinoids including CBD, THC, CBG, CBC and CBN.

Does cannabis/hemp have any other names?
Yes, it has a lot of slang names such as Marijuana, Pot, Weed, Grass, Ganga, Dope, Herb, Reefer, Skunk and many more.

COA and Testing
We pride ourselves in the quality and purity of our oil and we want to you to feel confident that you are buying the best full spectrum CBD oil available. Our oil is first tested at the farm to ensure it complies with the 2014 Farm Bill in terms of THC content of less than .3%. It is also tested for pathogens at that time. Once it has the golden seal of approval it is sent to the manufacturer.

Once it arrives at the manufacturer, before it can be bottled it once again has to be tested for quality. Once it is approved it is bottled in an FDA registered, food grade facility. From the manufacturer it is sent to Healing Drops Warehouse. We then randomly select bottles and test it again for quality and potency. So by the time you receive your purchase, rest assured it has been tested multiple times.

How to read the COA’s
You will notice that we randomly select a bottle from each concentration of oil that we offer to test for quality and potency. We do this on a regular basis. Upon opening this document, it may be difficult to understand what the test is showing. Let us explain, you will see an image of the bottle tested on the left side of the COA. This area lists pesticides, microbials and several other items and they are all followed by NT. NT stands for not tested. This test is only testing for cannabinoids. Beneath this area you will see a THC and CBD weight percentage. This is weight not volume.

If you look at the 1000 mg for example. The CBD amount states 10.345% in weight. In terms of the amount of mg per bottle, that is actually 103.45mg. You can see that is further demonstrated on the right side, under the cannabinoid profile. Furthermore, if you want to determine the total number of cannabinoids per bottle you would multiply the total number of cannabinoids and in this case that would be 108.8mg and multiply that by the size of the bottle.

What is a terpene profile?
Terpenes are organic essential oils that are found in plants that give them distinct aromas. Pine trees have high terpene counts as do citrus, lavender and so many others. They are very profound in cannabis as well.  But terpenes are believed to provide more than great aroma and even flavor to a plant. In cannabis, many experts believe they also provide medicinal value.

So far, there are more than 200 terpenes that have been identified in hemp. About 60 of them are being studied for their potential medicinal benefits. The highest concentrations are found in the leaves and flowers and that is yet another reason whole plant extraction is preferred. These terpenes are essential and help create the entourage effect of our robust full spectrum CBD oil.
